Watch Me Be Sweaty and Gross on Fitarella.TV!

Well, at least I didn’t say this.
You’d think after my previous experiences with being the Freak Show of the Day on various TV shows that I’d have sworn off doing anything live ever again. I am so awkward, people. And BLURTY. Bad combination. (Gym Buddy Allison likes to explain me thusly: “She’s very book smart but not so much with the common sense.” Truth.) Fitarella – Jacqueline Carly – quickly discovered this when she kindly invited me to be on her show on The Pulse. She opened by saying “Hi” to me. I opened by telling her that she’s lucky she’s doing this interview remotely because I stink. Bad. (Yes I really actually said that.)

Plus, having just rushed in the door from this morning’s killer bootcamp workout (the highlight was dragging our trainer, who was “surfing” on plastic discs and holding onto resistance bands like reins, up and down a hallway on wet carpet – BRUTAL) I looked as bad as I smelled! Only I would do a live interview having not showered with 3-day-old gym hair and no makeup (but I remembered that today was my preschooler’s turn to bring snack – I think the teacher almost fainted when I showed up prepared, for once, with fishy crackers and juice). I guess I’m the antidote to those fit pros who say “Buy my book and you can look like me!” Buy my book and you too can have chronically bad hygiene! Yippee!
We won’t even talk about how I kept wanting to look at the cute little pic of Jacq down in the corner of my screen instead of looking at the camera when I talk. But I do tell some great stories from my book and Jacq and I chatted about why I would bring a sex swing to the gym! (I didn’t, people just mistook my TRX for one.) I had a ton of fun though and I can’t wait to be on Fitarella.tv again! Want to check it out? The whole hour-long show is super interesting – my fave segment is the one about caponyasa, a blend of the martial art capoeira and vinyasa yoga – but if you just want to catch my sweaty awesomeness, I start right at the 45-minute mark. Thank you so much for having me on your show, Jacq!

How do you do on film? Do you freeze up and get all awkward like me or are you a natural in front of the camera? Do you have any tips for me? Please?? (Not that I plan on being TV much but I do have -spoiler alert – an interview coming up with Two Fit Chicks and a Microphone! And seeing as MizFit and Shauna are two of my biggest girlcrushes, I’d hate to start off by grossing them out.)
