Resolutions Not Regret: Taking Little Steps to Help You Achieve Your Goals

This year I resolve to not chase any lions. 3 days down, so far so good!
How much do I love this time of year? The lack of daylight, the 4-foot-high snowdrifts, the post-holiday let down illustrated by the pile of already discarded Christmas presents that I keep tripping over (little ingrates!). Oh that’s right, I hate this time of year! Which, when you think about it, is really kind of unfortunate. Here we are at the cusp of a beautiful new year full of excitement and promise and all I can think about is how dreary January and February are. (It doesn’t help that I have Seasonal Affective Disorder.)

I blame the resolutions.
This month I have the honor of being BlogHer’s anchor blogger kicking off their month of little steps towards better health. I love the idea of breaking our big goals down into smaller more do-able chunks so twice a week I’ll be blogging over there sharing one little tip at a time that you can implement now that will make your life just a little nicer! Today’s tip? How to escape the guilt spiral of doom that descends when we Resolve to Be Better. Join me over there to read about my game plan for getting myself on the Maury show and find out my new favorite workout song (speaking of guilt – this one definitely falls in the guilty pleasure category!).

At Redbook magazine writing about all things parental (I know! It’s not fitness! It’s like there’s this whole other world out there…) as their newest blogger! Today I’m channeling the “wisdom” of my children in a funny look at New Year’s Resolutions.
On the Huffington Post I made a slide show (all the pretty pictures I can glean from non-copyrighted sources!) listing the Worst Mom Moments of 2010.
