$1,660/Pound

Would you pay $1,660 to lose one pound of weight? The witty and profane gals over at Elastic Waist are reporting that that is the average amount American women spend per pound lost. That’s factoring in gyms, surgery, weight-loss pills, personal trainers – the whole shebang.

The most interesting part for me is the comments section. They asked their readers to post what diets they’ve tried, how much money they’ve spent and what the results were. I’m not looking to lose weight and this is not a weight-loss blog but that doesn’t mean I’m not interested in reading about what works and what doesn’t. Definitely check the converation out and let me know what you guys think!

  1. I lost weight running track. That means a pair of shoes; a pair of spikes (for racing); clothes including shorts, cold-weather gear, sports bras and socks; gas money…

I wasn't even trying to lose weight. I was just trying to be healthier. I guess it worked.
